CASINO: Low-Carbohydrate Diet and SGLT2-Inhibitor to Achieve Moderate Ketosis in Healthy Volunteers

The purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that a low-carbohydrate diet combined with an SGLT2-inhibitor is sufficient to induce moderate ketosis in healthy volunteers.

To be enrolled in this study, you must meet certain requirements. You may be eligible to participate if you meet the following criteria:

Study Duration: Up to 10 weeks

Study Commitment: 1 screening visit (approximately 2-3 hours), 1 outpatient visit and a 29 day inpatient stay.

Age: 18-60 years old

Sex: Male & Female

Conditions/Eligibility: Male and Female aged 18-60
BMI 21-35 kg/m2
Overall healthy adult
Not a diabetic

Study Procedures: Screening process, which includes informed consent process, demographics, vitals, physical exam, urinalysis, blood draw, dexa scan.

1 outpatient visit which consists of standardized meals and randomization

29 full day inpatient stay which includes blood draws, vital signs, urine collections, low-carb diet consumption and administration of study medication, indirect calorimetry, and wearing a CGM

Compensation: Up to $10,000.
