Center for Nursing Research
Our Capabilities
The Center for Nursing Research has conducted program improvement projects and research studies to improve workforce mental health and well-being, specifically among nurses. Previous efforts include the Clinical Leader Series, a virtual mental well-being initiative developed for nurse leaders to provide education about mental health and to teach self-care skills during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, we developed a psychoeducational group program called RISEĀ© (Resilience, Insight, Self-Compassion, Empowerment) to address the effects of high stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue. It has been tested in pilot studies and randomized controlled trials with registered nurses and nursing leaders. Future efforts will continue to heal and protect AdventHealth team members.
The Center for Nursing Research offers mentorship and guidance to nurse researchers, from novices to experts, through the process of conducting research at AdventHealth. Our skilled team of nurse scientists, researchers, biostatisticians, and coordinators can advise regarding study design and analysis, logistics, approvals, and dissemination of nurse-conducted research at AdventHealth. Through consultations, courses, and online resources, we provide an array of research support to nurses throughout the organization.
