Dr. Ghayyad is an international medical graduate from Lebanon and a research enthusiast in the field of orthopedic surgery. During his medical school, his journey has taken him across borders and continents, shaping his understanding of healthcare and igniting a passion for research and patient care. He embarked on orthopedic surgery rotations in diverse settings, from the bustling hospitals of Egypt to the historic streets of Prague and the cutting-edge facilities in the USA. These experiences enriched his clinical skills and instilled a deep appreciation for the global landscape of healthcare. Driven by a desire to effect change on a broader scale, he assumed leadership positions such as Vice-President of External Affairs and Supervising Council of the Lebanese Medical Students’ International Committee. In these roles, he collaborated with diverse stakeholders to advocate for healthcare policies that prioritize patient wellbeing and access to quality care.
Currently, he serves as the Senior Research Fellow at Rothman Orthopedics Florida at AdventHealth, where he is immersed in groundbreaking research that seeks to advance orthopedic care and improve patient outcomes. In this capacity, he oversees a comprehensive portfolio of 80+ research projects spanning various orthopedic subspecialities. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, he is responsible for orchestrating each research endeavor's facets. This includes mentoring and guiding two other full-time research fellows, six medical student research interns, and ten part time research volunteers. With an emphasis on innovation, he works alongside esteemed mentors who provide invaluable insight, expertise, and support to translate the best ideas into tangible outcomes through competitive grant applications.
