Research Scientist
Translational Research
Overview
Over 25 years of valuable wet lab and bioinformatic experiences. Implemented and managed the entire research workflow, from developing research ideas and writing grant proposals to designing and performing experimental procedures, conducting high throughput data analyses, and publishing results in peer reviewed journals. Established the NGS section of a Cancer Pharmacogenomics laboratory from scratch: handled the research and negotiation process to purchase NGS instrument, conducted site preparation for installation, designed and implemented pipelines for data generation using commercial software and in-house developed R scripts. Contributed advanced understandings of biological principles underlying gene and microRNA regulation, cellular pathway analysis, comparative genomics, gene coexpression networks, and statistical modeling, among others. Currently studying metabolism, obesity, diabetes, cancer, and aging. Involved in translational research in the extracellular vesicle field. Expertise in microRNA profiling, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
